DIEM-A: Diverse Intercultural E-Motion Database of Asian Performers
A New Database Highlights Cultural Nuances in Emotion-Infused Body Movements
Overview
This database includes more than 10,000 motion capture
entries from 97 performers, 54 from Japan and 43 from Taiwan.
It features recordings of 12 emotions-joy, sadness, anger,
surprise, fear, disgust, contempt, gratitude, guilt, jealousy, shame,
pride, and neutral state.
Each emotional category comprises 3 self-prepared
personalized scenarios by the performers, at 3 intensity levels:
low, middle, and high.
Scenarios are provided in Japanese, English, and Chinese,
offering detailed context information that illustrates the cultural
nuances behind emotional triggers.
