Nano-rheology and Nano-tribology Measurement System

After many years of research, Professor Kazue KURIHARA of Tohoku University, and her colleagues developed a highly sensitive measurement system capable of analyzing the rheological (viscosity and elasticity) and tribological (friction and lubrication) properties of a liquid confined between two solid surfaces at the nanometer scale. The technology developed at Tohoku University has been transferred to ADVANCE RIKO, Inc.

ADVANCE RIKO, Inc. is currently selling these systems. The systems are also capable of measuring surface force, evaluating electric double layer power, adhesive force, intermolecular interaction, etc. With the optional focused heating system, the sample temperature can be changed from room temperature up to 100℃. In addition, the twin-pass method can measure opaque samples. A model with limited functions for surface force measurement (RSM-SFA) is also available.

For inquiries about these systems, please visit the following ADVANCE RIKO, Inc.’s website.
